Welcome to Laura’s Letter! I’m so glad you found your way here. You might be wondering what this blog is all about, who I am, or where to start. This page should help answer some of those questions.
What’s this Blog About Anyways?
I’m glad you asked! I’ve written a post that specifically explains the entire story behind the name and purpose of this blog, and reading it will give you a good framework for understanding all other posts. So if you’re looking for somewhere to start, I suggest you begin with this post:
But the brief, “nutshell” version is this: The concept of this blog is based off King Nebuchadnezzar’s letter found in the Bible’s book of Daniel chapter 4. In the letter, the king openly shares the life-changing lessons about himself and the nature of God he learned as a result of a profoundly humiliating experience. He opens his letter by saying:
To the nations and peoples of every language who live in all the earth… It is my pleasure to tell you about the miraculous signs and wonders that the Most High God has performed for me.
And that pretty much sums up the purpose and point of this blog: To bravely share, with a spirit of pleasure and unshrinking, disarming transparency, the things God is working and has worked for me, in hopes that He will be exalted and glorified to anyone who reads this.
So I believe that if you’re here, it’s no accident. God has something He wants to say to you. So get ready, open your hearts, and start reading!
About the Author
Hello. It’s probably pretty obvious, but I’m the “Laura” in Laura’s Letter. I live in the Central Valley of California with my husband, our two young boys, and a couple cats. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and a master’s degree in social work… which I’m currently using to raise my kids as a full-time, stay at home mom… and write this blog? *sigh* I enjoy making things, binge reading epic fantasy books, watching good movies and eating delicious, savory food.
